Stop Trying To Impress Everybody: You Are Merely Wasting Your Time!

It is absolutely mind-boggling, and both stupefying, as to how much valuable time, people spend in trying to impress others. Be it one's father, mother, brothers' or sisters', husband or wife, friends and acquaintances, bosses, or even strangers, we always seem so intent on impressing those around us; forever trying to prove ourselves, and thus gain the acceptance we so crave. We are all guilty of it, but what a putrid way to celebrate the miracle that is life! No matter one's religious beliefs, Life is a cosmic gift, a celestial blessing, and what do we do...we spend every minute thereof trying to impress. Pure insanity!
We wear silly, ostentatious garments, drive great chunks of gleaming metal, and build colossal mansions, just to evoke admiration! We live our lives according to the dictates of others, and still profess to be masters of our destiny. We assert that we are living life the way we wish to, but in the same breath, scurry off to take our place among the sheep; to do as Society bids! All the while, the Sands of Time slowly ebb, and our lives with it. And yet, we carry on trying to impress; carry on with this sordid charade, this absolute farce! However, realization sets in, and we become ever-so-aware of our limitations, our inability to be other than who we are. But, by this time it is too late. Bitterness and unbridled anger have already engulfed us, devoured our very soul, and we retire to lament lost opportunities, a life gone! What a waste!
One cannot, and will not, live up to everybody's expectations! It is an impossibility! Wake up! Desist from impressing others, constantly living in their shadows, and in effect living their lives... and start living your own! Grasp this awesome miracle called Life...before it is all too late!
